(1). What is Operating System? What are the functions of Operating system? Explain it.

(2). What is meany by Preemptive scheduling? How does it affect the system performance vis-a-vis non preemptive scheduling?

(3). Discuss the memory management in any Operating system. Explain the concept of virtual memory, paging and demand paging.

(4). What is mutual exclusion? How can you implement mutual exclusion print....? Discuss software solutions to the mutual exclusion problems.

       (b). Discuss FIFO  algorithm for page replacement and Delady is algorithm.
