(1). What is Operating system? Explain its concepts and structure.

(2). Show abstract view of the components of operating system.

(3). Describe the term process state with the help of diagram.

(4). What do you understand by concurrent processes? Show that operating system works as a resource manager.

(5). (a)  How does virtual memory improve the performance of CPU ?
       (b) Show swapping of two processing using a disk as a backing store.

(6). Consider the following page reference string:

       Assume 3 page frames. How many page faults would occur for

(7). Explain FCFS, SJF and round robin scheduling algorithms with the help of suitable example.
