                                                             Answer any five questions.

1. a) Prepare a list of objects that you would expect each of the following system to handle:
        (i) A program for laying out a newspaper
        (ii) A program to compute and store bowling scores
        (iii) A telephone answering machine
        (iv) A controller for a video cassette recorder
        (v) A catalog store order entry system

  b) Why is it said that JAVA is platform independent language? What makes it platform independent? Describe the features of Java.

2. What is object oriented programming? Discuss salient features of object- oriented programming.

3. What are the different Data types supported by JAVA ? Explain giving suitable example.

4. Define class. How can classes and objects are created in JAVA?  Give example.

5. What is Applets? is it impossible to execute the Applets individually? if yes, how ? if no, why? Also, explain, how to add images to the applets.

6. Define multithreading. How can threads be used in creating the Animation and adding the sounds?

7. Discuss the merits and demerits of using object-oriented Approach in JAVA. Give examples to support your answer.

8. Describe the various system required for JAVA programming. Also explain different levels of access protection available in JAVA.

9. What is an exception? Explain how to handle exceptions in JAVA, giving suitable example.

10. Write short notes on any three of the following:
       a) Interface
       b) Polymorphism
       c) Object-oriented desing
       d) Abstract class
       e) constructors and destructors
