http is hyper text transfer protocol but end 'S' word is secure version. but not secure version  http .  Any website search very important role of https .  Https encryption  methods the web server support. HTTPS for secure communication over a computer network and widely use on the internet . HTTPS is encrypted by transport layer security (TLS) . Any site make secure use SSL certificate . What is SSL?

SSL stand for Secure socket layer . it is standard security technology for establishing and encrpyted link between a web server and browser. for example- see figure
