1. Give a brief idea about various computer generation. List the major advances in each generation in the development of computer technology.

2. Explain the following DOS command:

3. Define the following:
    (i) Data Base Manager
    (ii) DBMS
    (iii) Master file and transaction file

4. What are the programming language? Explain the difference between machine, assembly and high level language. Give some example of high level language.

5. What is file? What kind of information can be contained within a file? What is the difference between a sequential data file and random data file? How are the data sets ordered in a sequential data file?

6. Define flowchart. Explain the meaning of various symbols used in developing a flowchart. What is the use of flowchart?

7. Write any five trigonometrical and five statistical functions in excel.

8. What is internet? List the important usages of internet. Give a brief account of growth of internet. How it is useful in business.

9. What are computers networks? Explain and enumerate the difference between LAN and WAN. How are they differ from MAN networks?
