1. Write short answer to the following:
    (a) State the difference between Data and information giving suitable example.
    (b) What are the main function units of a central processing unit?
    (c) Convert the decimal number 12 is to its binary equivalent.
    (d) What is the function of memory manager in an operating system?
    (e) Describe the essential differences between LAN and WAN.

2. Data processing plays a vital role in information technology. Discuss the evolution of information processing and the role of Data processing in the light of the above element.

3. Draw the block diagram of computer and explain the functions of each block, also, list and explain any one input and output device.

4. Computer can understand only machine code. Discuss the importance and role of Higher- level language and number system  in the light of the above statement.

5. Define operating system. Explain how an operating system manages the various component of a computer.

6. Justify the statement protection and parallelisms are the key issues of operating system. Also discuss the role of Command Interpreter.

7. What are the common advantages of client- server  systems for network processing? Also, discuss the role of workstation and network protocols used in the context.

8. Describe the process of sending and receiving the mail. What are the other facilities of available on the Internet ? Explain giving suitable example.

9. How can information Technology be used in Scientific. Business and Weather forecasting? Give examples.
